Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to make subdivision and issue separate patta to the petitioner in respect of the property situated in Town Survey No.1/1 Old Survey No.20/13 Block No.10 Ward D, Karuthapuliyanpatti Village, Melur Madurai District measuring an extent of 2822 Sq.ft on the basis of the petitioner's application dated 03.09.2025 within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

By relying on a registered partition deed dated 26.06.2018 and, in particular, item No.5 in the schedule thereto, the petitioner had applied for patta transfer. By an order dated 03.09.2025, such patta transfer was made. By asserting that an extent of 2822 sq.ft. has not been reflected in the patta (aggregate extent of 3449 sq.ft.), the petitioner had applied for rectification. The present Writ Petition relates thereto.

2. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for the sole respondent. He submits that the Tahsildar would consider and dispose of the petitioner's request on merits within three (3) months.

In view of the above submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's request for rectification of the patta within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity 2/4

to the petitioner and any other persons interested in the relevant property. No costs.
