PRAYER:- Writ Petition - filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct to all respondents to take appropriate action to pay tribute, to Martyr.Thiru.Sankaralinganar's martyrdom (day on coming 13/10/2025, on that day), any one of the important building located in the 'Tamizhl Naadu Secretariat or Tamizhl Naadu Legislative Assembly premises will be named after Martyr.Thiru Sankaralinganar's Building' and 'a huge statue of him should be erected in the Legislative Assembly premises and also the same will be continuing at the New Building of District Collector office and the government medical college located in Virudhu Nagar and to erect the statues of Martyr. Thiru Sankaralinganar at All the district capitals in Tamil Nadu and videos should be released to spread the story of his fame and show it to all Students studying from Primary Education to Higher Education.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by DR.ANITA SUMANTH, J.) The petitioner is an admirer of Mr.Sankaralinganar and seeks a mandamus directing the respondents to pay tribute and homage to Mr.Sankaralinganar and his martyrdom.
2. Mr.P.Thilakkumar, learned Government Pleader accepts notice for all the respondents.
3. The petitioner suggests that either an important government building may be named after the martyr or a Statue be erected in the Assembly premises. He has also other suggestions to make in this regard.
4. Since the petitioner has made a representation before the competent authorities putting forth the same plea, we believe that it would be more appropriate for the authorities to consider the same and take note of all the suggestions. Needless to say, it falls within the domain of the policy of the State to act on the suggestions made by the petitioner.

5. Hence, let the Chief Secretary of the State / R1 take note of the representation dated 24.09.2025 filed by the petitioner (pages 65 to 71 of the typed set). R1 shall forward the representation to the attention and consideration of the competent authority in the State government within a week from date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. The competent authority so designated by the Chief Secretary shall call upon the petition, hear him, take note of the suggestions and dispose the representation in accordance with the prevalent norms as expeditiously as possible thereafter.
