ORDER

The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to instruct the third respondent not to harass the petitioner under the guise of an enquiry.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the mother-in-law of the defacto complainant; that under the guise of an enquiry, the respondents are insisting the petitioner execute a deed in favour of the defacto complainant.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instruction, would submit that the respondent police have not compelled the petitioner to execute any such document and enquiry is pending only to ascertain whether any cognizable offence is made out and that the same would be concluded within a period of two weeks.

4. In view of the aforesaid submission, the respondent police shall conduct the enquiry only to ascertain whether any cognizable offence is made out and shall not harass the petitioner in the guise of an enquiry. The said enquiry would be completed within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
