O R D E R

By relying on an assignment on 25.08.1975 in favour of his grandfather in respect of land in survey Nos.446/2 and 447/1, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 30.06.2025 for issuance of a patta in respect thereof. The present Writ Petition relates thereto.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner points out that the Assistant Commissioner, Trichy, had directed that the assignment be transferred in favour of the petitioner's father. He also relies on a settlement deed dated 18.12.2009.

3. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. He points out that these lands are currently classified as 'Tharisu' and that the Revenue Divisional Officer is empowered to 2/4

consider a request for reclassification.

3. Accordingly, without making any observations on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.06.2025 and dispose of the same on merits within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner. No costs.
