O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to hold an enquiry with regard to the cancellation of Patta No. 1137 in respect of the property situated in Survey No. 240/12, nanja land, to an extent of 0.23.50 hectares (58 cents), at Varalotti Village, Kariapatti Taluk, Virudhunagar District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2023.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties.

The petitioner submitted a representation dated 14.10.2023 to the respondents seeking cancellation of patta issued in favour of the respondents 4 and 5 pertaining to the properties referred to above. However, no action has been taken on the said representation. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Learned Government Advocate, appearing on behalf of the respondents, submits that the petitioner's representation would be 2/5

considered on merits and in accordance with law.

In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent/ Revenue Divisional Officer to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2023 on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an inquiry. The second respondent is further directed to afford a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, respondents 4 and 5 and to all other persons who may be affected by such decision during the course of the inquiry.
