O R D E R

The Contempt Petition has been filed to to punish the contemnor/ respondent for her willful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in Crl.O.P.(MD)No.21577 of 2022 dated 07.12.2022.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the contemnor/ respondent has filed her reply.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the contemnor would submit that though this Court has directed the contemnor/ respondent to complete the investigation and file a report within four months vide order dated 07.12.2022, the contemnor/respondent was assigned the work of Anti Land Grabbing Cell and subsequently after coming to know about the order of this Court, the Superintendent of Police directed the contemnor/respondent to proceed with the investigation and file a final report and in pursuance of the same, the contemnor/respondent has filed a final report on 25.09.2023 and the case was taken on file in C.C.No.477 of 2024 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court No.1, Madurai.

4. The contemnor/respondent in her reply statement has stated that the delay occurred in filing the final report is neither willful nor wanton, but due to the frequent transfers of the Inspector of Police and holding additional charge of the concerned station and that she has tendered her unconditional apology for the delay occurred in filing the final report.

5. Considering the above, since there is no material to show the contemnor/respondent has disobeyed the order of this Court and that too willfully, this Court is not inclined to proceed further. Accordingly, this Contempt Petition is closed.
