ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble G.K.ILANTHIRAIYAN, J.) This writ petition has been filed for directing the respondents to produce the petitioner's father namely, Thiru.M.Lakshmanan, aged 47 years, before this Court and set him at liberty.

2. The petitioner is the daughter of the detenu and the detenu is working as a Special Sub Inspector in Arumanai Police Station, Kanyakumari District. On 31.08.2025, while he had gone for attending duty, he went missing. Therefore, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the 2nd respondent/police and the same has been registered in Crime No. 287 of 2025 on the file of the 2nd respondent/police under the caption 'man missing'. The investigation is going on and the whereabouts of the detenu is not known till date. To that extent, the 2nd respondent has also filed a status report.

3. In view of the above, the 2nd respondent is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.287 of 2025 and file a final report within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
