O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to cancel the assignment patta granted in favour of the fifth respondent and consequently, restore the subject land in Survey No. 26/27, Azhagiyapandiyapuram Village, Thovalai Taluk, Kanyakumari District, to the petitioner based on his representation dated 15.09.2025.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents 1 to 4 submitted that the third respondent will consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within the time frame stipulated by this Court.

3. In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's 2/5

representation dated 15.09.2025 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. Such representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an inquiry, affording a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, the fifth respondent and to all other persons who may be affected by such decision during the course of the inquiry. In the event of any issues pertaining to land disputes, the parties shall approach the competent civil court. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
