PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of MANDAMUS to direct the 2nd respondent to consider Petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 to issue the Computer Patta in favour of Petitioner's father's name based on the Patta Transfer Order for the property in S.Nos.273/2 and 273/3 at Marungoor Group, Thiruvadanai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District within a time stipulated by this court. ORDER

By relying on sale deed dated 08.02.2010 in favour of the petitioner's father and the legal heirship certificate, the petitioner had applied for computer patta. The present writ petition relates thereto.

2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice for both the respondents. He submits that the land in S.Nos.273/2 and 273/3 are classified in the revenue records as "Anadheenam". He also submits that there are rival claims. Therefore, he submits further that a detailed enquiry would be conducted and orders would be issued on merits.

3. In these circumstances, without expressing any opinion on merits, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the Revenue Divisional Officer to consider the petitioner's request for a computer patta and pass orders thereon on merits after conducting an inquiry by issuing notice to all persons concerned. A speaking order shall be issued within four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
