O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a Mandamus as against the first respondent for re-issuance of passport based upon the petitioner's application dated 18.08.2025.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the second respondent brought to the notice of this Court that criminal case is pending as against the petitioner in Crime No.166 of 2024 on the file of the second respondent. In the said case, so far investigation has not been completed and charge sheet has not been laid. In another case arising out of a private complaint, the petitioner is arrayed as accused in CC No.159 of 2024, on the file of the Judicial Magistrate-cum-Additional Mahila Court, Ramanathapuram.

3. According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the petitioner was working abroad and his passport expired on 13.12.2025 and seeks for expeditious disposal of the case for renewal of passport. 2/5

4. In view of the above said facts, the petitioner is directed to approach the Judicial Magistrate -cum-Additional Mahila Court, Ramanathapuram seeking permission of the court, to go abroad. The learned Judicial Magistrate shall take into consideration the nature of work of the petitioner and also the fact that the passport expires on 13.12.2025 and shall pass orders as expeditiously as possible. Based upon the order of the learned Judicial Magistrate-cum-Additional Mahila Court, Ramanathapuram, the first respondent is directed to renew and reissue the passport to the petitioner immediately.

5. With the above said observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
