This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking to quash the FIR in Crime No.12 of 2024 dated 06.01.2024 on the file of the first respondent, which was registered for the offences under Section 147, 148, 448, 294(b), 323, 324 and 506(2) of IPC.
2. The allegation in the FIR is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioner along with others had abused the defacto complainant in filthy language and attacked him with liquor bottle besides committing the offence of criminal intimidation.
3. Admittedly, the petitioner and the second respondent are close relatives and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 10.10.2025.
4. The petitioner, namely, Sathis @ Sathishkumar (Aadhaar No.6513 2111 3935) and the defacto complainant, namely, Chellapandi (Aadhaar No. 7551 9885 2622) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by 2/5

5. In view of the same, considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Since the defacto complainant is not interested in prosecuting the case, the impugned FIR in Crime No.12 of 2024 dated 06.01.2024 is quashed against all the accused and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 10.10.2025 shall form part of this order. The petitioner shall pay a sum of Rs.5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry. 28.10.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No Lm 3/5
