Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a WRIT OF MANDAMUS directing the respondents herein to disburse forthwith the revised Selection Grade Pay Arrear amount of Rs.4,12,111/- (Rupees Four Lakhs Twelve Thousand and One Hundred and Eleven only) to the petitioner with appropriate interest. 1/4

ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed to issue a WRIT OF MANDAMUS directing the respondents herein to disburse forthwith the revised Selection Grade Pay Arrear amount of Rs.4,12,111/- (Rupees Four Lakhs Twelve Thousand and One Hundred and Eleven only) to the petitioner with appropriate interest.

2. The petitioner had made a representation for payment of the revised Selection Grade pay along with arrears even before the date of superannuation and the same has been forwarded by the Executive Engineer (Sewerage Devision), Ramanathapuram, to the Executive Engineer, TWAD Board, Maintenance Division, Nagpattinam, thereafter the petitioner had also superannuated from service and it is the case of the petitioner that even as of the date, the same was not paid to him. He had also made various representations to the respondents and last of which was made on 06.10.2025. 2/4

3. Considering the fact that no steps have been taken to disburse the claim made by the petitioner and that the petitioner had been superannuated from service, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.10.2025 on merits and in accordance with law and if the petitioner is found to be eligible, disburse the arrears of Grade Pay to the petitioner as eligible within a period of twelve(12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
