Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to provide electricity connection to the Petitioners' houses, and to assess the Petitioners' property for house tax and to issue a digital copy of the patta in pursuant to Assignment Order dated 30.08.1999 to the Petitioners' to their respective houses situated in Survey No.345/2A in Sempatti Village, Athur Taluk, Dindigul District within time period by consider the representation of the Petitioners dated 12.08.2025. O R D E R

The petitioners assert that free house site pattas were issued to them in survey No.345/2A, Sempatti Village, by recognising that they are not only landless poor but also belong to the Scheduled Caste community. After submitting a representation dated 12.08.2025 for the provision of electricity connection, property tax assessment and issuance of a digital copy of the patta, the present Writ Petition has been filed. 2/5

2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice for respondents 1, 2 and 4 and learned Standing Counsel accepts notice for the third respondent. Learned Government Advocate submits that orders would be issued on merits on the petitioners' representation by the Tahsildar within three (3) months.

3. Accordingly, the second respondent is directed to consider and pass orders on the petitioners' request for a digital patta within two (2) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The third respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the petitioners' request for electricity connection within one month from the date of disposal of the application for issuance of digital patta.

4. This Writ Petition is disposed of on these terms. No costs. W.M.P.(MD) No.22943 of 2025 is allowed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
