Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to rectify the error in the Town Survey Land Register and FMB sketch with regard to the extent of the property and consequently, issue patta in favour of the petitioner in respect of the property comprised old TSLR No. 1530/1C New TSLR No. 216 at Ahimsapuram 8th street (Venmani Road) North circle, Sellur, Madurai Corporation Ward 16, Madurai on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 04.09.2025 within time frame fixed by this Court.

By relying on a partition deed dated 31.03.2000, a Will dated 23.05.2025 and a settlement deed dated 04.06.2022, the petitioner asserts title to 12 cents in Town Survey No.216. On the ground that the patta wrongly reflects the extent as 0.409.5 sq.m., which is equivalent to 10 cents, instead of 0.485.58 sq.m., a petition for rectification was filed on 04.09.2025. The present Writ Petition relates thereto.

2. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for all the 2/5

respondents. He submits that the second respondent would consider the request of the petitioner and pass orders on merits within three (3) months.

3. In view thereof, without expressing any opinion on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to consider the petitioner's request for rectification and pass orders on merits within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner.
