Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2025 and pass a Speaking Order, so as to mutate the Revenue Records in the existing land except the land acquired by the respondents in respect of Survey Nos.61 and 61/2, situated at Thiruppachethi North Group, Thiruppachethi, Sivagangai District within the time frame as fixed by this Court.

The land ad measuring about 31 cents in old survey Nos.61 and 61/2 was said to be owned by the petitioner's father. Such land was 2/5

acquired in the year 2013 and compensation was fixed in a sum of ? 12,00,000/-. The petitioner has admittedly received the sum of ? 6,00,000/-. On the basis that a portion of the land remains unused, the petitioner had submitted a representation seeking reconveyance of a portion of the unused land instead of the remaining compensation of ? 6,00,000/-.

2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice for the respondents 1, 3 to 5 and learned Senior Counsel, appears for the second respondent. Learned Government Advocate submits that the remaining land is also required for public purpose. Without prejudice, he submits that the petitioner's representation would be considered and disposed of on merits within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3. In view of the above submissions, without making any observations on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders thereon on merits within three (3) months from the date of receipt 3/5

of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner. No costs.
