ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to issue passport to the petitioner by processing his application in File No.TR1075537627525 based on the explanation or representation dated 14.10.2025 within a time limit stipulated by this court.

2. The petitioner would submit that he had applied for the issuance of a passport on 25.08.2025 and attended the interview on the date and time allotted. Thereafter, he received an adverse report from the first respondent on account of his alleged criminal antecedent. The said adverse report was based on the report furnished by the second respondent, in view of the registration of an FIR against the petitioner under Section 279 and 304(A) IPC in Crime No.1277 of 2022. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has approached this Court.

3. When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the second respondent submitted that the charge sheet has been filed and taken on file in C.C. No.1183 of 2025 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate, Orathanadu. 2/4

4. In view of the above, the petitioner has to await the outcome of the criminal proceedings and thereafter renew his application for passport. Hence, this writ petition is dismissed, as the petitioner has not made out any case for issuance of a passport pending the criminal proceedings. No costs.
