The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents 1 and 4 herein to provide protection for the maintenance and improvement works within the premises of Sri Anandavalli Udanurai Thanthonreeswarar Temple and Sri Varadaraja Perumal Thirukkovil, situated at Sundaram Village, 2/6
Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukkottai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 20.09.2025. 2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police would submit that there are rival claimants; that the villagers are opposing the petitioner's right to carry out maintenance and improvement work in the land and that the parties have been referred to the second respondent herein.
3.Mr.NA.Palaniyandi, learned counsel appearing for one of the villagers would submit that there are rival claimants and that the prayer sought for in this writ petition cannot be granted. 4.This Court cannot go into the disputed facts in the writ petition and issue a direction as prayed for. However, since the second respondent is seized of the matter, the second respondent may pass appropriate orders, after conducting due enquiry, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/6
5.With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
