ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed to direct the Trial Court to complete the trial in C.C.No.124 of 2023 pending on the file of Mahila Court, Madurai by fixing a time frame.

2. The petitioners/accused are facing trial for the offences under Section 498(A) and 304(B) of IPC. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the first accused, who is the husband of the deceased, is no more; and that the petitioners are parents of the first accused; that they are facing trial since 2023; and that the first respondent has not so far examined any witnesses.

3. The Hon'ble Supreme Court has made it clear that there cannot be any direction to the Trial Court for disposal of the case within a time frame. However, considering the fact that the main accused is no more and the petitioners are aged persons, the Trial Court shall consider expeditious disposal of the case in C.C.No.124 of 2023.

4. With the above observations, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
