PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to premature release the petitioner by name Shaik Dawood (C.P.No.616213), son of Mahamad Macthum, aged about 57 years now lodged and confined at Central Prison, Trichy on the basis of the remission under the Tamil Nadu Prison Rule, 2024 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 29.08.2025 in accordance with law, within the time stipulated by this Court. [Order of the Court was made by P.VELMURUGAN, J.] This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to premature release the petitioner by name Shaik Dawood (C.P.No.616213), son of Mahamad Macthum, aged about 57 years now lodged and confined at Central Prison, Trichy on the basis of the remission under the Tamil Nadu Prison Rule, 2024 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 29.08.2025. 2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the convict prisoner Shaik Dawood (C.P.No.616213), son of Mahamad Macthum, aged about 57 years has already been released vide proceedings No.25429/Ta.Ku.2/2024, dated 20.11.2025 and hence, the prayer sought for in the writ petition has become infructuous.

3. Recording the said submission, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
