By relying on a sale deed dated 15.04.2009 and the patta in the name of the petitioner's vendor/third respondent, the petitioner had submitted a representation dated 20.03.2025 to cancel the patta in the name of the third respondent or the third respondent's brother and to cancel the settlement deed dated 15.12.2020. The present Writ Petition relates thereto.

2. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for respondents 1 and 2. He submits that the revenue authorities do not have the authority and jurisdiction to cancel the settlement deed. As regards the revenue records, he submits that the representation would be considered and disposed of on merits after issuing notice to the parties concerned.

3. In the above circumstances, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 20.03.2025 on merits after providing a reasonable 2/4

opportunity to the petitioner, the third respondent and S.Karupasamy. A speaking order shall be issued within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Since the merits have not been gone into and in view of the direction to provide a reasonable opportunity to the third respondent, this Writ Petition is being disposed of without notice to the third respondent. No costs.
