This writ petition has been filed for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to settle the belated payment interest at the rate of 6% p.a. on the delayed payment of Retirement Benefits such as Provident Fund Rs.17,45,608/- Gratuity Rs.14,43,462/- and Leave Salary Rs. 11,461/- from the date of retirement on 30.04.2024 till the date of settlement on 25.08.2025.

2. Considering the admitted fact that there has been a delay in payment, the petitioner is entitled to statutory interest as provided under law.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would restrict his claim of interest at the rate of 6% per annum.

4. In view of the same, the writ petition stands disposed of. The respondent is directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the belated terminal benefits payable to the petitioner from the date of his entitlement till the date of his payment within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
