ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the Executive Officer and Joint Commissioner, Arulmighu Sri Ranganathaswami Thirukoil Devasthanam, Srirangam, Trichy, in Na.Ka.3766/1418/D1, dated 07.06.2013.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he belonged to one of the families, who are entitled to conduct certain ceremonies and rituals for generations. Though the temple was brought under the purview of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department, the privileges and responsibilities of the families, are saved. The petitioner challenges the impugned order mainly on the ground that the impugned order has been passed in violation of principles of natural justice, without issuing any show cause notice or giving an opportunity of being heard. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. In the aforesaid circumstances, the impugned order passed by the respondent is set aside. However, the respondent is given

liberty to proceed further if they are advised in accordance with law, after issuing a show cause notice and hold an enquiry, if it is permitted in law.

4. Accordingly, this writ petition is allowed as above. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
