After submitting an appeal on 09.05.2022 seeking reclassification of the lands currently classified as 'Arasu Poramboke', the petitioner seeks the early disposal thereof by this Writ Petition.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner invited my attention to the proceedings of the District Revenue Officer dated 26.05.2022 and to the proceedings of the Revenue Divisional Officer dated 01.06.2022. He submits that a decision has not been taken in spite of the lapse of more than three years.

3. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for all the respondents. He submits that the District Collector would pass orders on merits after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

Accordingly, without expressing any opinion on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal and pass orders on merits within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner.
