This writ petition has been filed for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to pay the interest at the rate of 18% per annum for the belated payment of retirement benefits including, Provident Fund, Earned Leave encashment amount with interest.

2. Considering the admitted fact that there has been a delay in payment, the petitioner is entitled to statutory interest as provided under law.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would restrict his claim of interest at the rate of 6% per annum.

4. In view of the same, the writ petition stands disposed of. The respondents are directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum on 2/4
