ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 treating Hema and Hemalatha as one and the same, within a stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

2. Considering the limited prayer that has been sought and considering the fact that the petitioner's name found in the transfer certificate "Hema" and in all other certificates, including Service Register of the petitioner's husband that she had been only shown as Hemalatha and she had also received the last pension for which reliance is also placed on the widow certificate issued by the Revenue Department, where her name has been mentioned as Hemalatha, however, it is to be noted that the petitioner's name has been recorded as Hema in her transfer certificate. Therefore, if the mandamus is granted and the petitioner is compassionately appointed, it may lead to further litigation. Therefore, it is only appropriate for the petitioner to take necessary steps to publish the name change in the gazettee and thereafter, approach the respondents.

3. In such view of the matter, the petitioner is directed to take necessary steps to make gazettee publication with regard to the change of her name and thereafter, approach the respondents to consider her claim for appointment on compassionate ground.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
