Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the fourth respondent to pay the compensation to petitioner's land comprised in Survey Number 606/1 to an extent of 18 cents situated at Vembar Village, Etiyapuram Taluk, Thoothukudi District acquired for the purpose of widening the Tuticorin - Thirunelveli NH 138 Road, on the basis of the representation submitted to the first respondent on 18.08.2025 within the time frame that may be fixed by this Court. O R D E R

Upon acquisition of 18 cents of land owned by the petitioner in survey No.606/1 for the widening of the Tuticorin-Tirunelveli NH 138 road, the petitioner complains that compensation was paid only in respect of the building, but not in respect of the land.

2. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for 2/4

respondents 1 to 4 and Mr.S.U.Srinivasan, learned counsel, accepts notice for respondents 5 and 6. Learned Special Government Pleader agrees that the compensation for land has not been paid. He submits that the Tahsildar may be directed to fix the compensation and send the requisite proposal in that regard to the second respondent.

3. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the fourth respondent to fix the compensation and send the proposal in relation thereto to the second respondent. This process shall be completed within a maximum period of three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
