ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by DR.ANITA SUMANTH, J.) The prayer of the petitioner is for a mandamus directing R1 to R7 being the official respondents to take necessary steps to cancel the assignment patta and recover the land in S.F.No.287/1 situated in Soorangulam Group, Kalayarkoil Panchayat Union, Sivagangai ('property'/'property in question').

2. Mr.P.Thilakkumar, learned Government Pleader has instructions that would enable the writ petition to be disposed even at the stage of admission. He submits that the petitioner has infact filed a representation dated 14.10.2025, received on 15.10.2025 seeking cancellation of patta in respect of the property in question.

Hence, it would suffice us to direct the Revenue Divisional Officer, Sivagangai Revenue Division, Sivaganai / R3 to hear the petitioner as well as R8, by issuance of notice, ascertain whether there are any others may be interested in the property in question, issue notices to them, if necessary, and thereafter, pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from today.

4. Since it is expected that the authorities will adhere to the principles of natural justice, no notice is issued to R8 at this juncture.
