The petitioners had purchased 2415 sq.ft. in G.R.Survey No. 365/36 from one A.Ramasamy. According to the petitioners, as per the title deeds and the FMB sketch of the year 1987, the north-south boundary of G.R.Survey No.365/36 on the east is 15.4 meters and for old G.R.Survey No.365/37, the north-south boundary on the east is 14.8 meters. However, it is asserted that these measurements have been interchanged in the new FMB Sketch. After submitting a representation seeking rectification, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. He submits that the fourth respondent would consider the petitioner's request and pass orders thereon on merits.

3. Given the nature of rectification sought for by the petitioners, it is just and necessary that the owners of G.R.Survey No.365/37 be put on notice and provided a reasonable opportunity before a decision is taken. 3/6

Subject to the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the fourth respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioners' request for rectification of the FMB within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioners and to the owners of G.R.Survey No.365/37. No costs. W.M.P.(MD) No.24239 of 2025 is allowed.
