ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the FIR in Crime No.231 of 2025 dated 13.08.2025 on the file of the first respondent, which was registered for the offences under Sections 7 and 8 of Protection of Child from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

2. The allegation in the FIR is that, the de-facto complainant, while studying in a college, had travelled in a bus, in which the petitioner, who was working as a conductor, had passed some inappropriate comments and touched the shoulder of the victim girl inappropriately.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the victim girl does not wish to pursue the case any further, and the parties have now arrived at a compromise and have also filed a joint compromise memo dated 07.11.2025, besides filing of an affidavit.

4. The petitioner and the victim girl are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.S.Ramar, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Kannivadi Police Station, Dindigul District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

Considering the nature of the allegations against the petitioner, and the fact that victim girl herself does not wish to pursue the case, in view of the compromise arrived between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.231 of 2025 dated 13.08.2025 is quashed and this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The petitioner shall pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry. The joint compromise memo dated 07.11.2025 shall form part of this order.
