ORDER
The petitioner seeks for quashing of the FIR in Crime No.391 of 2025 on the file of the first respondent for the alleged offences under Section 420 and 506(i) of IPC.

The allegation in the impugned FIR is that the petitioner and the defacto complainant are neighbours; that the petitioner had received a sum of Rs.8,80,000/- from the defacto complainant to obtain a government job for his wife; that thereafter, the petitioner neither secured the job nor returned the money; that when the defacto complainant demanded the said sum, the petitioner threatened him of dire consequences and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.
3. Admittedly, the petitioner and the second respondent are family friends and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 7th November 2025.

4. The petitioner and the second respondent, namely, Saravanakumar (Aadhaar No.6813 9517 3835) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by M/s.R.Evuri, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Thogamalai Police Station, Karur District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

In view of the same, considering the nature of the offences and since the dispute is private in nature, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.391 of 2025 dated 15.10.2025 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The petitioner shall pay a sum of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) as costs to the High Court Legal Services Authority attached to this Bench forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
