Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents 2 and 3 from collecting Rs.990/- instead of Rs.464/- being the payment of house tax as per the rules at the rate of Rs.10/- per Sq. Mt for the year 2012-2013 and further direct them to collect the current water charges payable by the petitioner in relation to the petitioner's house at Door No.4-77, Panchalingampuram Village, Mahanathanpuram Post, Kanyakumari District forthwith.

ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents 2 and 3, from collecting Rs.990/- instead of Rs.464/-, being the payment of house tax, as per the rules, at the rate of Rs.10/- per Sq. Mt, for the year 2012-2013 and further direct them to collect the current water charges payable by the petitioner, in relation to the petitioner's house at Door No.4-77, Panchalingampuram Village, Mahanathanpuram Post, Kanyakumari District

3. According to the petitioner, in the year 2012, the respondents

have demanded a sum of Rs.990/- as House Tax. The petitioner has not challenged the said demand. Against the demand, appellate remedy is available. Hence, the petitioner is not entitled to the relief sought for in this Writ Petition.
