O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus as against the first respondent for renewal of passport based upon the petitioner's application dated 10.10.2025.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the second respondent brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioner has been implicated in a criminal case in Crime No.587 of 2024 on the file of the Theppakulam Police Station, Madurai City.

3. A perusal of an FIR reveals that there was a dispute between two neighbours. The petitioner alleged to have committed offence under Sections 296(b), 324(4), 351(2) of BNSS, 2023.

4. Considering the fact that so far charge sheet has not been laid, the first respondent is directed to consider the request of the petitioner for renewal of passport in the light of the judgment of this Court reported in 2014 8 MLJ 61 (Mr.W.Jaihar Willam Vs.the State of Tamil Nadu) pass orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

4. With the above said observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
