ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to forthwith issue a passport to the petitioner's minor son, namely Harishkumar, in view of the urgent requirement for his admission to the Marine Engineering Course, pursuant to Application No. MD1065278833125, dated 03.07.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent submitted that the passport application of the petitioner's son would be processed immediately upon receipt of the requisite police verification report from the second respondent.

3. Recording the above submission, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent police to forward the verification report to the first respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Upon receipt of the said report, the first respondent shall process the passport application of the petitioner's son expeditiously, in accordance with law.
