No. 561 of 2021 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Dindigul as against the cost of Rs.10,000/- imposed the order dt. 22.08.2025.

ORDER

The petitioner seeks to set aside the order passed by the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Dindigul in Crl.M.P. No. 10 of 2025 in C.C. No. 561 of 2021, dated 22.08.2025, by which, he was directed to pay a sum of Rs. 10,000/- as cost to the complainant.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is facing prosecution under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and the petitioner was represented by a Legal Aid Counsel as he has no means to pay the cost of Rs.10,000/-.

3. It is seen that the instant petition is also filed by a Legal Aid Counsel on behalf of the petitioner.

3. Considering the financial status of the petitioner and in the interest of justice, the cost imposed in Crl.M.P. No.10 of 2025 in C.C. No.561 of 2021 by the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Dindigul, is reduced from Rs.10,000/- to Rs.2,000/-. Except for the above modification, the order impugned is sustained.
