ORDER
The petitioners seek for quashing of the FIR in Crime No.123 of 2024 on the file of the first respondent for the alleged offences under Sections 118(1), 296(b) and 132 of BNS, 2023.
2.The allegation in the impugned FIR is that on account of the dispute in TASMAC, the petitioners abused the defacto complainant in filthy language, attacked him with beer bottle and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.
3. Admittedly, the petitioners visited the liquor shop to consume alcohol and thereafter, involved in an altercation with the defacto complainant. However, they have now entered into a compromise, deciding to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo, dated 10th November 2025.
4. The petitioners and the second respondent, namely Mohandas (Aadhaar No.3913 1636 2174) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.R.Nagarajan, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Ambillikkai Police Station, Dindigul District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

In view of the same, considering the nature of the offences and the dispute is private in nature, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.123 of 2024, dated 07.07.2024 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The petitioners shall pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) as costs to the High Court Legal Services Authority attached to this Bench forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
