ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the FIR in Crime No.227 of 2025 dated 05.09.2025 on the file of the first respondent, which was registered for the offences under Sections 296(b), 115(2), 118(1), and 351(3) of BNS.

2. The allegation in the FIR is that, on account of prior enmity, the petitioners attacked the de-facto complainant with their hands and sticks, abused him in filthy language, and committed the offence of criminal intimidation.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the parties have now arrived at a compromise and have filed a joint compromise memo dated 07.11.2025.

4. The petitioners, namely Alexpandi (Aadhaar No.9800 8819 5676), and Arupandi (Aadhaar No.3534 8666 8755), Manikandan (Aadhaar No.3186 5485 2/4

4879), Kaleeswaran (Aadhaar No.3591 3727 1549) and the 2nd respondent, namely Sukumar (Aadhaar No.4172 2423 2094), are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Ms.S.Rani, Women Head Constable, Sakkottai Police Station, Sivagangai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

Considering the nature of the allegations against the petitioners and in view of the compromise arrived between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.227 of 2025 dated 05.09.2025 is quashed and this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The petitioners shall pay a sum of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry. The joint compromise memo dated 07.11.2025 shall form part of this order.
