2. Crl.O.P.(MD)No.19335 of 2025 is filed to quash the impugned final report in C.C.No.212 of /2025 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Srivaikundam in Cr.No.7 of 2020 dated 18.01.2020 for the offences under Section 147, 148, 427 IPC r/w 109 of the IPC.

3. Crl.O.P.(MD)No.19339 of 2025 is filed to quash the impugned final report in P.R.C.No.66 of 2025 in Crime No.6 of 2020 on the file of the Learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Srivaikundam, for the offences under Section 147, 148, 294(b), 307 and 506(ii) of IPC.

4. The gist of the allegation in both the final reports is that on account of an election dispute, the petitioners in both the cases attacked each other and hence, the FIRs were registered which culminated in the impugned final reports.

5. Admittedly, the petitioners and the second respondent in both the cases belong to the same village and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memos dated 04.11.2025. 3/6

6. The petitioners and the defacto complainant in both the cases are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.R.Narayanan, SSI, Murappanadu Police Station, Thoothukudi District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

7. Though it is alleged that the accused in one of the cases had committed offence under Section 307 of the IPC, the nature of injuries sustained by the victim is on the wrist and it was found to be simple in nature by the Doctor. Hence, this Court is of the view that the offence under Section 307 of the IPC is not made out on the facts of this case.

8. Considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final reports are quashed in entirety and the Criminal Original Petitions stand allowed. The joint compromise memos dated 04.11.2025 shall form part and parcel of the order. shall pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) in each case as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
