ORDER

The petitioners seek for quashing of the impugned FIR for the alleged offences under Section 189 (2) BNS 2023 and Section 3 of TNPPDL Act, 1992.

2. The gist of the allegation in the impugned F.I.R. that on account of previous enmity, the petitioners had caused damage to the chairs in the marriage hall, when the marriage of the 2nd respondent took place and thus, committed the aforesaid offence.

3. Admittedly, the petitioners and the second respondent are same village and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 27.10.2025

4. The petitioners and the second respondent / defacto complainant are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.V.Sundarraj, SSI, Karaikudi Police Station, Sivagangai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them. 2/4

5. Considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.615 of 2025 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The petitioners shall pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
