PRAYER:- Writ Petition - filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to conduct a proper enquiry on the proceedings in Na. Ka.No.2401/2025/D8 dated 12.08.2025 based on the Petitioner plea dated 26.06.2025 and consequently take necessary action against the Government Officers and Village Panchayat Officials who sanctioned Individual Household Latrines (IHHL) under the Swachh Bharat Mission to unqualified persons and remove the latrines built on Government land in Veeraperumalpuram Panchayat.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by DR.ANITA SUMANTH, J.) The petitioner seeks a mandamus directing the respondents to conduct a proper enquiry based on the proceedings in Na.Ka.No. 2401/2025/D8 dated 12.08.2025.

2. The petitioner is aggrieved by the construction of washrooms under the Swachh Bharat Mission, as he states that construction has encroached upon pathways and causes obstruction to the 2/5

public. He has made a representation setting out the same plea and hence, it would suffice for us to direct the Block Development Officer, Kallikudi Taluk, Madurai District / R4, to dispose the representation dated 26.06.2025, after hearing the petitioner and obtaining necessary inputs from the Government officials as well as Village Panchayat Officials, who have sanctioned Individual Household Latrines (IHHL) under the Swachh Bharat Mission and pass orders in accordance with law and the scheme, within a period of twelve weeks from today.
