PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of MANDAMUS to direct the respondents to rectify the wrong entry made in the FMB and the wrong classification as "Common Pathway" in respect of property in Survey No.243/20 in an extent of 819 Sq.ft situated at Kanjanaickenpatti Village, Aruppukkottai, Virudhunagar District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 15.10.2025 within time stipulated by this court.

ORDER

By relying on gift deed dated 27.11.2000, the petitioner asserts that he owns 819 sq.feet in new S.No.243/20 corresponding to old S.No.75. After submitting a representation dated 15.10.2025 to the revenue officials, the present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction in relation to such rectification.

2. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for all the respondents. He submits that the Revenue Divisional Officer is vested with the authority to consider a request for rectification of the patta. He states that the Revenue Divisional Officer would consider and dispose of the request on merits.

3. In these circumstances, without expressing any opinion on the merits, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to consider the petitioner's request for rectification of the extent mentioned in patta No.182 2/4

on merits within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and any other persons concerned. No costs.
