ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to provide electricity service connection to the petitioner's house in D.No.38D, Kamatchi Compound, Kaja Street, M.K.Puram, Madurai, by taking the indemnity bond as per the representation dated 27.03.2025 within the time as fixed by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Deenadhayalan, learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice for R1 and Mr.A.Kannan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for R2. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. It is the grievance of the petitioner that she has sent representation to the respondent to give electricity service connection to the petition mentioned house by taking an indemnity bond. However, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the petitioner has filed the above petition.
4. On the side of the respondents it is stated that the land in occupation was originally acquired and handed over to the Housing Board. The petitioner is residing in D.No.38D, Kamatchi Compound, Kaja Street, M.K.Puram, Madurai. The Housing Board is refusing to grant No Objection Certificate stating that they will issue No Objection only to the persons to whom the land has been allotted. In the present case, the petitioner was not allotted any land.

The petitioner relied on the communication of the Housing Board, where it is stated that they will give no objection only to the allottees, but they have not ascertained whether the land belongs to the Housing Board. Therefore, as on date, it is nobody's land. In view of the same, the respondents are directed to effect the electricity connection to the petition mentioned house on furnishing the indemnity bond by the petitioner. The grant of electricity connection shall be subject to the ultimate claim by the Housing Board.
