ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.06.2025 and consequently direct the first respondent to remove the pedestrian shop (bunk shop) situated in front of the petitioner's shop on NSB Road, which has not been classified as a vending zone by the Street Vending Committee.

2. Mr.J.Sriprasad, learned Standing Counsel, takes notice for the first respondent. Since no adverse order is proposed to be passed against the second respondent, notice to him is dispensed with. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. According to the petitioner, she is the proprietor of a readymade textile shop located on N.S.B. Road, Trichy. She submitted a representation to the first respondent requesting removal of the pedestrian bunk shop situated in front of her premises, on the ground that the said location has not been classified as a vending zone by the Street Vending Committee. Since no action has been taken on her representation, the petitioner has approached this Court.

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent submits that the Street Vending Committee is yet to take a decision as to 2/4

whether the subject location falls under a vending zone or a non-vending zone. He, however, submits that the petitioner's representation will be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.06.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, as soon as the decision regarding classification of the vending zone is finalised.
