ORDER
The petitioners seek to quash the final report in S.T.C.No.322 of 2025 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District, which was filed for the offences punishable under Section 147, 294(b), 323 and 355 of IPC.
2. The allegation in the final report is that due to prior enmity, the petitioners abused the defacto complainant in filthy language, attacked him and threatened him with dire consequences and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.
3. Admittedly, the petitioners and the second respondent are close relatives; that since the defacto complainant is no more, the defacto complainant's children have now entered into a compromise with the second respondent and they decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 07.11.2025. 2/5
4. The petitioners and the second respondent, namely, Meyyar (Aadhaar No.2226 2122 6693) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by the Police officer of Sammatividuthi Police Station, Pudukkottai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.
5. In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report in S.T.C.No.322 of 2025 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District, is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
