The petitioner seeks a direction for rectification of the revenue records by deleting the classification 'Adi Dravidar Natham' and instead issuing patta in the name of the petitioner in respect of 84 cents of land in survey No.213/4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner relies upon an order dated 29.11.1999 in W.P.No.4663/1996 to contend that acquisition proceedings were wrongly initiated under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, and that the above mentioned Writ Petition was allowed after recognising that proceedings should have been initiated under Act 31 of 1978.
3. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for both the respondents. He has placed on record the award issued on 21.11.1995 under Act 31 of 1978. By referring to paragraph Nos.1 to 3 thereof, he points out that fresh notifications and declarations were made under Act 31 of 1978.

4. The earlier order of this Court clarified that the order will not be a bar for the initiation of fresh proceedings under Act 31 of 1978. By resorting to Act 31 of 1978, fresh acquisition proceedings were initiated and the award was issued in 1995. In these circumstances, the petitioner has not made out any case for the issuance of a Mandamus as requested. By leaving it open to the petitioner to claim compensation in accordance with law, this Writ Petition is disposed of without any order as to costs.
