ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Mandamus directing the respondents to forthwith complete the remaining work of fitting and commission of the second single window transformer at Kaliamman Kovil Street, S.Pudur, Thiruvidaimaruthur Taluk, Thanjavur District, which was approved by the competent authority and restore uninterrupted power supply to the residents of the said locality by considering the petitioner's representation dated 05.08.2025.

It is the case of the petitioner that there exists one transformer, which was installed by the respondents, in the petition mentioned area i.e., Kaliamman Kovil Street, S.Pudur, Thiruvidaimarudhur Taluk. Since there was a frequent power interruption, the petitioner along with other residents approached the respondents and explained their grievance. Based upon the same, inspection 2/5
was conducted and upon confirmation of the insufficient power supply, the proposal for erection of second single window transformer for augmenting the power supply in the petition mentioned area, was approved. The respondents have also commenced to erect the second window single transformer through a tender process. Thereafter, the respondents have arbitrarily stopped the said work, which has caused great prejudice to the residents in the petition mentioned area. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of the above writ petition.
3. When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the work in question would be completed and electricity service connection would be given within two weeks.
4. Recording the aforesaid submission, this Writ Petition is allowed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 11.11.2025 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet:Yes Rmk 3/5
