PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to give free house site patta in Survey Nos.702, 704 and 664, Esanatham Village, Aravakurichi Taluk, Karur District as alternative place vide G.O.(MS) No.465 dated 27.11.2018. ORDER

The petitioner had applied for free house site patta in respect of S.Nos. 702, 704 and 664, Esanatham Village on the ground that the petitioner had resided therein for about 30 years.

2. Learned Additional Government Pleader submits on the basis of written instructions that the petitioner is eligible to be considered for a free house site patta. However, he states that S.Nos.664 and 704 are classified as Government Poromboke Road and S.No.702 is occupied by a temple. Therefore, he states that the petitioner's request would be considered in relation to an appropriate parcel of land.

3. In view of the above submissions, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's request for a free house site patta within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Such request may be considered in relation to lands adjacent to the lands currently under occupation by the petitioner. No costs. 13.11.2025 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet: Yes/No RJR 2/4
