Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to treat the date of appointment of the petitioner as 14.02.1998 on which date the other selected candidates were appointed pursuant to the selection based on employment exchange seniority held on 19.08.1997 in which the petitioner was selected but his appointment was kept in abeyance by fixing his seniority in the appropriate place with all consequential monetary and service benefits including seniority.

ORDER

When the matter was taken up on 01.02.2018, none appeared on behalf of the writ petitioner. Hence, the matter was directed to be listed under the caption "For dismissal".

2. Today also i.e. on 05.02.2018, when the matter was taken up for hearing none appeared for the writ petitioner. Hence, the writ petition is dismissed for non prosecution. However, there shall be no orders as to costs. Consequently, MP(MD)Nos.1 and 2 of 2011 are closed.
