PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to grant patta for the land bearing Survey No.194/1C of Kariyampatti Revenue Village, Oddanchatram Taluk, Dindigul District by considering petitioner's representation dated 23.05.2025 within the time limit as fixed by this court. 1/4

ORDER
The land in S.No.194/1C had been assigned to one Chinnan mathari. By sale deed dated 11.06.2001, the petitioner purchased the said land from the legal heirs of the allottee. Because the assignment was cancelled by order dated 03.08.2018, the petitioner appealed against such order before the first respondent. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 23.05.2025 for issuance of patta in his name. The present writ petition relates thereto.
2.Learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. He submits that the petitioner's request for patta cannot be considered in view of the cancellation of assignment. However, he submits that the appeal against such cancellation would be considered and disposed of on merits within a reasonable time.
3.In view of the above submissions, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's request 2/4
for restoration of the assignment within four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and any other persons who would be affected by such order. No costs. 06.11.2025 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet: Yes/No apd To
