ORDER

The petitioners sought for quashing of the impugned FIR registered for the alleged offences under Sections 324 and 506(ii) I.P.C. @ Sections 324, 506(ii), 147, 148 I.P.C.

The gist of the allegation in the final report is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioners along with two others attacked the defacto complainant with hands, knives and abused in filthy language and committed the offence of criminal intimidation. The FIR was originally registered for the offences under Sections 324 and 506(ii) I.P.C. and subsequently altered into Sections 324, 506(ii), 147, 148 I.P.C.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners and the defacto complainant belong to same village and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 27.06.2025.

4. The petitioners and the second respondent are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.K.Chinnaraj, SSI, Avaniyapuram Police Station, Madurai City. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

4. Considering the nature of the allegation and the compromise arrived, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.91 of 2024 is quashed in entirety and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 27.06.2025, shall form part and parcel of the order. The petitioners shall jointly pay a cost of Rs.10,000/- to the credit of the "District Siddha Medical Officer, CCRI, Periyakulam" (Account No.10767823177, IFSC Code: SBIN0000898, MICR Code: 625002601) and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry. 17.11.2025 Index: Yes/ No Speaking Order / Non-Speaking Order LS 3/4
