PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to pay amount of Rs.52,00,000/- with 6% interest from the date of possession of acquired land situated at 15 acres at S.No.479/1 & 479/2 of Pandavarmangalam Village, Tuticorin District in view of Tuticorin District Gazette Notification made by the first respondent on 31.03.1997 on the basis of the representation given by the petitioner dated 08.07.2013 to the respondents. ORDER

The petitioners seek for a Mandamus directing the respondents to pay Rs.52,00,000/-(Rupees Fifty Two Lakhs only) with 6% interest towards compensation for acquiring the petitioners' land at Survey No.479/1 & 479/2 in Pandavarmangalam Village, Tuticorin District. 2.According to the petitioners, though the land acquisition https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ proceedings were completed and the lands were taken possession as

early as in the year 1988, the respondents have not paid the compensation amount to the petitioners. It is further seen that the petitioners have made a representation on 08.07.2013 seeking for payment of compensation. Therefore, this Court, without expressing any view on the claim made by the petitioners, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioners and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after hearing the petitioners also in person.

3. With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
